Pilates Method.

The Pilates method, created by German fitness innovator Joseph Pilates, was designed to revolutionize the lives of those who practiced it. Pilates envisioned his system as so impactful that it should be integrated into school curriculums.

Joseph Pilates on the Reformer

The method includes a variety of exercises performed on specialized equipment that Pilates himself designed, such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, High Chair, Arm Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Ped-O-Pul…However, much of the practice can also be done on a mat. Pilates developed these mat exercises to allow his students to continue their practice at home, ensuring they could maintain their fitness levels.

Regardless of whether you're using one of Joseph’s machines or simply a mat, the objective is consistent: to engage the entire body with a special emphasis on the core, or "powerhouse." This method enhances strength, boosts flexibility, improves posture, and increases body awareness, making it a holistic approach to fitness and well-being.
